I am installing VB 6.0 using Windows XP SP2. after completing the set up I
got the ff errors:

*dtcrt.dll was unable to register itself in the system registry
*mscal.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*dblist32.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*msdatlst.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*comct232.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*mci32.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*mschrt20.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*msadcf.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*msadco.dll was unable to register itself in the system registry
*mshflxgd.ocx was unable to register itself in the system registry
*msdbg.dll was unable to register itself in the system registry

set up was not successfull!

What should I do?

You need to add administrator (or Power User) privileges to your user
account.

Hello Guys,

I have the problem now , I need to install MS VS 6.0 but at the end of the
installation process , I got "mschrt20.ocx was unable to register itself in
the system registry" problem.

I have Win XP Pro with SP2.

Well, I have you ask: do you plan on including charting functionality in
your programs? If not, then you don't really care whether mschrt20.ocx got
installed of not.

Are you right , I don't need charting in my programs but this problem comes
even if I deselect "Graphics" componet from Custom installation wizard. in
fact , the installation process aborts and gives this problem.

I solved this probelm by removing the OCX file from Sys32 folder and it
works fine now.
